Balitang Sandigan: LUZON APOSTOLIC CONGRESS ON MERCY (Highlights)

The Luzon Apostolic Congress on Mercy (LUACOM) was formally initiated through the Morning Prayer of the Christians. The enthronement of the images and relics of: Santa Faustina and San Juan Pablo II and the image of the Divine Mercy (Divine Mercy) were also held.

This was followed by a series of interviews about the Divine Mercy of God. The interviews have the following topics: (1) Biblical foundation & Theology of the Divine Mercy - Father Kirth Stephen G. Buluran, (2) Divine Mercy & Synodality - Father Enrico Crisostomo, and (3) Divine Mercy & The Youth - Father Alvin Pila. Following each interview are the testimonies given by: (1) Ms. Cynthia Leowardy (Divine Mercy Apostolate Asia Lay Coordinator) and Ms. Candy Pangilinan, (2) Mrs. Violeta Chua-Dela Cruz and Mrs. Mary Chiara Dela Cruz-Gonzaga, (3) Mrs. Charee Pineda.

The interviews in the afternoon were about: (4) Divine Mercy in Times of Pandemic - Govt. Daniel Fernando and (5) The Faces of the Divine Mercy - Padre Florentino Concepcion. This was followed by testimonies given by: (4) Bro. Michael Angelo Lobrin and (5) Mons. Rannie Trillana. A video tribute was also shared about the principle of Mons. Josefino Ramirez for spreading devotion to the Divine Mercy of God.

Confession is also held throughout the day at Our Lady of Consolation Chapel so that delegates can experience God's Divine Mercy more.
There was also adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and praying of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. The first day of LUACOM ended with the celebration of the Holy Mass led by the Papal Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Charles John Brown. It was attended by several bishops and priests.
