Due to the non-stop rain these past few days, many areas covered by our Diocese are now submerged in floods. It is a force of nature that is beyond our control, which is why we turn to God for His mercy so that the incessant rain will finally subside.
Meanwhile, I encourage our Parishes to open the doors of churches, visitors and facilities where our stricken countrymen can evacuate. Our Commission on Social Action is currently contacting the parishes to extend help to those in need. Likewise, I encourage all believers to extend the necessary help to the victims closest to your area. Let's also pray for the safety of the current disaster responders from the government and private sectors.
Again, let's pray together and work together. With the mercy of God who is with us, we can overcome everything. Let's hold on to what Jesus said, "Do not be afraid, it is I!" (Matthew 14:27).
