Balitang Sandigan: SAN ROQUE’S FEAST CELEBRATED AT MALHACAN, MEYCAUAYAN CITY (08.20.24)

The Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Malhacan, City of Meycauayan celebrated the feast of San Roque, healer, on August 16, 2024. This saint is the second patron of the said parish.

The highlight of this day is the Mass Concelebration led by the Bishop of Malolos Dennis Villarojo at 6 pm. In his homily, the bishop expressed the church's strong opposition to the introduction of Absolute Divorce in the Philippines, as a reflection on the gospel that day.

“In the human heart, [is there] the desire to move around? The one who loves wants to stay... Even if you find another person, the wound remains. The children are the most wounded," said the bishop.

"The fragility of one part of society and the fragility of all. When one pillar breaks, the whole house falls. This is what happens when divorce is allowed," he also said. After the Holy Mass, the Grand Procession followed.
On the day of the festival, the blessing of dogs and anti-rabies was also held, because San Roque is also recognized as the pintakis of dog guardians. Led by the parish priest, Fr. Rainnielle Pineda, the blessing, and the members of the Knights of Columbus of the parish organized the work.

The gathering of 92 Catholics was also held on the morning of the feast, led by Father Narciso Sampana, vicar general of the diocese. As for the nines before the feast day, the Parish of San Isidro Labrador also held a medical mission, prison visits, Healing Mass, Mass of Deliverance, and visits to the sick. The Igg. Daniel Fernando, governor of Bulakan Province, served as the hermano mayor of the festival for this year.
