Balitang Sandigan: FIRST OBANDO GRAND MARIAN PROCESSION HELD BY DEVOTEES AT SALAMBAO NATIONAL SHRINE (09.15.24)

September 7, 2024 - The first Grand Marian Procession was held at the Parish of San Pascual Baylon and National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Salambao in the town of Obando in connection with the celebration of the Feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Twenty-three (23) images of the Blessed Mother were offered in the majestic procession. These images are in the care of various parish organizations, brotherhoods, and believers living in Obando. This procession features the release of the sacrificial image of Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepcion de Salambao. Pieces of clothing of the original image of the Virgin of Salambao that was damaged during World War II were also released.

Before the exit of the procession, there was a prayer of the Holy Rosary and celebration of the Holy Mass led by Father Proceso Espiritu, parish priest and rector, together with Father Ramon Bong Sabangan, parish vicar.

After the procession, the veneration of the Blessed Virgin and fireworks display were held in the patio of the parish. This Grand Marian Procession is organized by members of the Brotherhood of the Blessed Virgin of Salambao in collaboration with the Parish Liturgy Commission and the Ministry of the National Shrine.
