Balitang Sandigan: 178TH FIESTA OF SAN ANDRES KIM TAE-GON CELEBRATED AT LOLOMBOY SHRINE (09.24.24)

On September 20, 2024, devotees and the people of Lolomboy, Bulacan celebrated the 178th Feast of San Andres Kim Tae-gon or Gim Dae-geon Andeurea, the Korean Martyr who once lived in their village. 

There was a Holy Mass for the Feast of San Andrew Kim Taegon at 6:30 in the morning led by Father Rico Trinidad. After this, there was veneration of the relic and veneration of Nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

A Mass was also held at the Convent Shrine of Saint Andrew Kim Tae-gon at the same time as the renewal of the Holy Vows of Sr. Ma. Rosario Cecilia M. Peralta, a nun in charge of said shrine. It was led by Father Ronaldo Tuazon, Vicar for Religious of the Diocese of Malolos.

After the Mass, the monument of St. Andrew Kim Tae-gon was blessed which is located in the place where he wept after reading his father's letter before he was sentenced to death.

On September 16, 2024, Padre Mateo Kim, a relative of San Andres Kim Taegon from the fourth generation of their family, also visited the Lolomboy church.
The life of the saint can also be seen in some clips from the South Korean film titled "Birth" 탄생 (2022). It shows the journey of St. Andrew Kim Tae-gon and how Catholics were persecuted and persecuted in his time.
