On September 27, 2024, the Stella Maris Parish Mission in Pamarawan, Malolos City celebrated the feast of the Blessed Virgin Stella Maris also known as "Bida Festival" or Biyayang Dagat Festival.
The celebration started with the youth dancing in the street while carrying the image of the Blessed Virgin Stella Maris and also organized a game for the children. There was also a Holy Mass led by Bishop Dennis C. Villarojo. The Mass was an opportunity to re-acknowledge the role of the Virgin as protector of fishermen and the entire community.
The procession also took place in the villages, with devotees and dancers. Apart from the liturgical activities, the sale of souvenir items and a paraffle for a cause that aims to raise funds for parish projects were also featured.
Showing the community's deep relationship with the ocean, where most of the residents are fishermen, who rely on the bounty of the sea for their livelihood is the purpose of the BIDA Festival 2024. The word "Bida" represents the blessings brought by the sea.
