Balitang Sandigan: LONGEST HOLY WEEK PROCESSION HELD AT BALIWAG, BULACAN (04.18.25)

BALIUAG CITY, BULACAN- The so-called Longest Lenten Procession in the Philippines was held at the Shrine and Parish of San Agustin on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, with the participation of 128 floats.

This included 17 floats with antique images that are almost Three Hundred Years old. These included La Angustia: Jesus in the lap of his grieving Mother and Santa Maria Salome.

At exactly 6:00 pm, the Majestic Procession began, including the Santo Entierro, which is one of the important scenes in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Fajardo Family takes care of it and Jesus can be seen lying on the calandra which is only glimpsed once every Good Friday. The men who took Jesus down from the cross at 3:00 pm are accompanying him.

Also part of the procession is the introduction and blessing of the floats and images of the procession.

This is one of the important events in Baliwag City that is visited because of the life-sized images and their beautiful clothes.
