The 33rd anniversary of the designation of the Church of Santa Ana in Hagonoy, Bulacan as the National Shrine was commemorated on Thursday, October 29, 2024.
The members of the National Shrine Ministry, Kapatiran ni Santa and Lingkod ni Apo Ana held a Holy Mass and conducted a renewal of duty.
This was followed by a majestic procession in honor of the Patron of the National Shrine, Santa Ana de Hagonoy.
In 1991, the Conference of Bishops of the Philippines raised the status of the church as a National Shrine, with the efforts of the former Parish Priest, Msgr. Jose B. Aguinaldo and the thousands of devotees of Santa Ana from Hagonoy who petitioned for it.
