More than 100 young people from the Diocese of Malolos attended the Central Luzon Youth Pilgrimage 2024 (CLYP). It was held from October 18 to 20, 2024 in Subic, Zambales.
According to Bro. Eric Bernardino, one of the young people of Malolos who attended CLYP, the programs that impressed him were the "Pista Sa Baryo" and "Pistang Kabataan ng Gitnang Luzon," which gave the youth the opportunity to show their talents and cultural appreciation.
One of the unique experiences at CLYP was the session titled "Differently Abled Persons as Image of God's Hope to Christian Communities."
This session focused on the close relationship between young people and people with disabilities. Led by an experienced resource speaker, an intensive discussion was conducted on the challenges faced by the differently abled.
The resource speaker described how youth can be partners with people with disabilities to provide equal opportunities and assistance to them.
The lessons shared made clear the importance of having a wider awareness and action, which conforms to the principle of synodality of the Church—the collective journey that leaves no one behind.
It is a gathering that aims to promote youth participation in social issues.
