PRAYER IN THE HONOR OF THE POPE
(To be prayed after the Post Communion Prayer from May 06, 2025)
Father of Wisdom, you are once again weaving
the pages of the history of your Church.
With the passing of Pope Francis,
your servant who showed us
your face of mercy and reminded us
of our journey of hope,
you charge our Cardinals
to elect a new successor to Peter
to represent Christ.
May they listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Show them the cries of the Church today,
the signs of the times, and respond to them
according to the eyes of faith and the heart of the Good Shepherd.
May your holy will prevail in their choice.
When the day of Your appointment arrives,
may we gladly receive the New Holy Pope,
sent by You to "feed and care for" us
according to Jesus' command to Peter.
We ask this through Jesus Christ
together with the Holy Spirit forever.
Amen.
