Balitang Sandigan: MSGR. TRILLANA’S FUNERAL HELD A DIVINE MERCY NATIONAL SHRINE (09.17.24)

September 17, 2024 - Funeral Mass held for Monsignor Ranilo S. Trillana, P.C. at the National Shrine and Parish of the Divine Mercy, Marilao, Bulacan where he served as rector and parish priest for three (3) years starting in 2021.
Mass was led by Lub. kg Dennis C. Villarojo, D.D., Bishop of Malolos with the priests of the Diocese of Malolos. According to his homily, Msgr. was the founder. Rannie not only of the stone Church but the human Church.

"In the length of time that he served as a priest, he built not only a stone Church but a human Church that he built and shaped through the word of God. Through the sacrament, through spiritual guidance. This is our prayer and desire, that he who built the church of stone and man may be given eternal life." said the bishop.

Also one of the plans to be done by Msgr. Rannie in the national shrine is the new Divine Mercy Sanctuary or better known as Sta. Faustina Hall. It will be remembered that on August 4, 2024, there was a ground breaking for the sanctuary, and it was attended by Msgr. Rannie despite his illness.
"In Msgr. Rannie's desire to build this church, may God give him grace and mercy. Because what he is blocking is great," said Bishop Dennis.

Before being assigned Msgr. Rannie at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, he came from the Minor Basilica and Parish of La Purisima Concepcion, Sta. Maria, Bulacan where he served as Parish Priest for eight years (from 2013 to 2021. Msgr. Rannie also built and beautified the Basilica.

Bishop Dennis continued, "I told him again and again... Msgr. I'm sorry, if I have visitors from other places, I always send them to Sta. Maria because I can be really proud of the church you built and beautified. "

Before the end of the Mass, his remains were blessed by the priest and his remains were walked inside the shrine and to the Sta. Faustina Hall. In St. Michael Chapel inside the National Shrine and Parish of the Divine Mercy buried Msgr. Rannie.
There were his family and relatives as well as the parishioners he had served during the Thirty-Nine (39) years of being a priest.

Msgr. Rannie passed away at the age of sixty-seven (67) due to prostate cancer.

Before his funeral day, there was a Tribute for Msgr. Rannie on September 16. His fellow priests at Divine Mercy, Bishop Emerito Deogracias Iñiguez, Father Romeo Sasi, Father Jess de Silva as well as the Parish Pastoral Council and representatives from different parishes gave a message he served as a priest.
